It is the responsibility of every Christian to share the Gospel to everyone.
The Word of God is very clear that every believer is commissioned, …commanded, …constructed to share the Gospel. The word “you” points to us. Every believer is called to be His WITNESSES in this lost world. Our duty is to be witnesses for Him while we wait for Him to return.
First, let us remember that we have the right Message which is the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Our only mission is to point people to Jesus. Who is the only hope the world has for salvation, and we are not to be ashamed to share Him to others. “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” (Rom 1:16). Secondly, God reminds us of our Movement which is “to go”. To go as His witness, we who bears the truth in our hearts and ready to follow wherever the Lord would lead us, beginning from our own Jerusalem and courageously going even to the uttermost! And the most important of all, we have the Might that comes from the Holy Spirit! That “dunamis” power from God that enables us to speak forth the Word of Truth to others. God’s promise of His presence and protection is assured, but the challenge might remain unanswered, “Who will go?”
We carry this message in our hearts during our deputation work as God has called us to go to Papua New Guinea. We relayed the challenge to our churches that it is very clear that God has opened this door of ministry for AFBCP to go to Papua New Guinea to share the Gospel. A country which is both our neighbor and our uttermost. It is a country close to us not only geographically but also in terms of governmental economic ties. “In year 2018, our government was granted to use thousands of hectares of land by their prime minister to teach them how to plant and farm rice. The agreement was signed and 19 farmers from North Cotabato were deployed to teach Papua New Guinea farmers how to develop their rice lands.”1 I can’t help but think and pray that the Lord will send not just pastors and workers but also Christian agriculturist and farmers with the purpose of not just teaching them to plant rice, but we will plant together the seed of the Word of God in their hearts! It’s our uttermost since it’s not an Asian country anymore, and as well as its considered the last frontier on earth since there are many remote places and tribes still unreached and untouched by the Gospel. “Papua New Guinea is one of the most culturally diverse countries in the world having 851 different languages. The country is one of the world's least explored, culturally and geographically and known to have numerous groups of uncontacted peoples.”2 These news and facts seem like it is the fulfillment of the great commission for us!
God has opened this opportunity for us through our ABWE partners. God has blessed AFBCP with many churches in the Philippines that it is high time for us to join forces together to reach not only Asia but also to other parts of the world. As we prepare to go, God willingly, on July or August, we need your prayers and support. But we also pray that God will continue to call laborers to His harvest field in PNG. Let us remember our God-given responsibility to share the Gospel to everyone and respond with faith.
